New York City is the most expensive place in the world to own a home, according to a new report.
The city boasts a population of 7.8 million, a per capita income of $53,000, and a median home value of $1.2 million.
The average price of a home in Manhattan rose 1.5 percent to $831,600, while Brooklyn’s price rose 0.8 percent to an average of $2,746,800.
As of last week, the median house price in New York was $1,085,000.
As for the median price of homes in Brooklyn, the average price is $1 million.
According to the report, the top ten most expensive cities in the US, by median home price, are: Los Angeles ($1.1 million); New York ($1,817,200); San Francisco ($1;1,622,700); Washington, DC ($1 million).
According to the most recent data from RealtyTrac, New York is now the most affordable market in the country.
In fact, it was the second most affordable metropolitan area, after Chicago.
According to Realty Trac, the US Census Bureau said that the median family income for a single person in the state is $61,200, the second lowest in the nation.
The top ten least expensive places in the United States are: Denver ($1); New Orleans ($1); Houston ($1), Albuquerque ($1).
